Nice shot of Tiiu Kuik by Camilla Akrans for NYTimes Style Magazine editorial "Rock of Ages", styled by Anne Christensen. Right amount of light and the vintage swimsuit is paired beautifully with those braids... A world away from the chilly day in Brisbane. Happy July 1st!

RUNWAY TOP 6 : BANANA REPUBLIC F10RTW
My top 6 picks from Banana Republics Fall 2010 show. The retailer went heavy on the olive and military, and light on the theatrics this season; putting togther a group of super wearable outifits. All of which could be dissected by a novice and paired back with old wardrobe favourites with ease. Great accessories and styling, although I may be biased, as this cold weather lately has me craving anything cosy and warm looking!

PHOTO OF THE DAY : HEAD OVER DOCS
Another Anja Rubik shot today. I just though it was fun and playful and I liked the black and white stripes and the chunky plaiting of her dress. If anyone knows where it came from let me know (via LittlePlasticHorses Blog)

PHOTO OF THE DAY : SNAKE EYES
Anja Rubik in the editorial 'Bijoux' from this year's February issue of Vogue Paris. Anja is a true model in my opinion, in the sense that she can blend into any environment and change her style constantly to suit the shoot. Plus she is gorgeous! This snakey pic was photographed by Claudia Knoepfel and Stefan Indlekofer, styled by Veronique Didry.
EYE CANDY : COLOUR AND WHITE
Just some random pics I found, I think it was the bright colours and stark white that drew me to them.

BRISBANE BUZZ : THE FINDERS KEEPERS BEEN THERE DONE THAT
So Sunday was my maiden voyage into the world of Finders Keepers and boy was it busy! The 2 studios and balcony were a constant throng of curious browsers and eager shoppers all jostling for the best spots in front of the stall tables. I did in fact lose my friends straight away but with so much to look at I didn't mind getting lost for a while! Mondocherry was one of the first sellers I gravitated towards and loved all their 3d paper-art and framed buttons. Almond Tree Frames was another great set-up with paper-art, and if you have a look at their site be sure to check out their Alice in Wonderland range. My first, of only 2 purchases, came from Bespoke Letterpress Boutique. However as it is a gift I can't share it here incase it spoils the surprise! needless to say it is a beautiful example of letterpress. Udessi's sculptures and animal prints next caught my eye before my final buy, a creamy ceramic magnet from paper boat press. Handmade right here in Brisbane it reads "follow your bliss" (buy a similar one here) My last stop was the jewellery at Pigeonhole, where I fell in love with some of the delicate silver pieces and I am looking forward to having a better look around their webstore soon!
Half way through we needed to take some time out for nourishment and the reclaiming of a little personal space. I shared some pizza and a little banana bread cross legged on a grassy patch in front of the band's stage and luckily made it back inside before the rain started. All in all it was a good day with good food, good company and plenty of creative inspiration!

I HEART ART : LAURA LAINE
Finnish Fashion Illustrator Laura Laine has been a regular feature on my desktop wallpapers for a couple of years now and I thought, in case you hadn't been exposed to her beautiful work yet (shock horror!), I would share some this morning! Based in Helinksi, she studied Fashion Design before concentrating solely on Illustration and setting herself up as a full-time freelance artist. She has done commissions for places like H+M, Zara, Tommy Hilfiger and Viktor&Rolf. (and I believe she also teaches at a university sometimes)
Her work is always so detailed and shaded beautifully, Id be really interested in learning more about the methods she uses and what inspires her... hope you guys enjoy her work now as much as I do! take a look -

BRISBANE BUZZ : THE FINDERS KEEPERS
Super excited for a Jam-pack weekend coming up! Which amongst many things will include an eagerly awaited trip to the Biannual Finders Keepers Markets in Herston. On this Sat and Sun (26th/27th) it's the place to be if you are even mildly interested in the handmade, shopping, crafts, food or music! Might see you there!

EYE CANDY : THE BROOKLYN HOME COMPANY
The Brooklyn Home Company "The Brooklyn Home Company are Real Estate Developers, Design & Build General Contractors and Architectural Design Consultants"
(BHCco seen via Bliss)
The mix of honey timber and cool white in these first 2 pics is gorgeous, and I always wanted a library with a ladder and a secret loft room, so this home has it all!

RUNWAY TOP 6 : STELLA MCCARTNEY RESORT 11
Lacy frocks, boxy coats, colour blocking and some fresh and bold floral prints all went into the mixing bowl for the cake that was Stella McCartney's 2011 Resort Collection. Style.com reports that: Resort is an optimistic, hopeful season for McCartney. "I love early spring; everything's alive again and growing." she said. "I think the clothes reflect that."
I thought the collection was mature and elegant with killer accessories (heart the simple shoes and every single bag!) So what can we can gather from this showing? well, that Im looking forward to the season being fresh and subtle with an elegant pallette, floral prints and sophisticated tailoring, oh yeah! and its all about legs legs legs!...(at least we in Oz have a little time to whip our own stilts into shape)
PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE DAY : EUGENIO RECUENCO
Spanish photographer Eugenio Recuenco's mind must be a very cinematographic place if his work is anything to go by. All his photos have such a surreal fantasy atmosphere that transports you to whats been called a fairy-tale world. Im really liking his look of washed out colours, splashed with the super bold. Lose yourself for a while here, in his online portfolio.
