LUST HAVE TREND : STATEMENT NECKLACES

This trend is not exactly new to the style scene but it is persistent! First making a big showing on the runway last year it looks like it is here to stay! I always say accessories are the quickest and least expensive way to stay on trend, and who wants to pass up the opportunity for a little opulence; its good for the soul. An automatic style symbol and genius way to dress up even the humble plain white Tee, the statement necklace should take up some prime real estate in your jewellery draw. So whether its an ornately beaded bib or a plate sized pendant (or both!)- get bold this Winter!

The Blog A Creative Mint is filled with beautiful imagery and I'm so glad I came across it! Leslie is a mum living in LA and coming up with some creative projects for us all to stare at and envy. I find all her photos to be so flawlessly light and airy, so fresh and uplifting that I thought I would share some of the beautiful flower arrangements from recent posts....these make me want to fill my space with blooms! Happy Wednesday

FASHION GLEE

Last week the boyfriend and I were having a movie night with some friends of ours and they put on the first episode of Glee. Now I had heard a lot about it...more like I had heard about it a lot! and everyone seemed to be obsessed with this new fangled musical comedy (even, I hear President Obama himself) but I just never got around to watching. I am now 3 episodes in and hooked, I already want to steal Emma's hair colour and all her sweater clips! and in that respect apparently I am not alone. Check out this amazing blog all about the fashions Emma Pillsbury and Co. wear on set : What Would Emma Pillsbury Wear (seen via Smitten Design) And while you do that I am off to shop for some sweater clips and to think up an event to wear them to!

D.I.Y - POTTING HERBS

For a couple of years now I have wanted to grow my own herbs but never got around to it. So for my birthday recently when I was given a set of little pots, my herb-craving was re-ignited! Finally this week I went out and got some seed packets and soil from my local hardware store and I'm all ready to go! Pity that the box the pots came in had a photo of white pots and inside were blue pots...never mind; its a good 'ol can of spray paint to the rescue. I taped up the little chalkboard plaques (where you write the herb names) and sprayed away today in the fading afternoon light. Tomorrow is potting time and come 10-14 days I will see the fruits...er herbs...of my labour! Stay tuned...
