LUST HAVE MINI TREND : BODY SUITS AND CROSS NECKLACES

MINI TREND - BODYSUITS AND THE CROSS NECKACE:
Was it Lady Gaga or a 90's revival that brought back the body suit? Twilight or True Blood that brought the Cross back into fashion? Whatever it was these mini trends are definitely making a comeback. (Check out yesterday second 'shop the look' for tips on how to wear it right)
Lets ere on the side of caution ladies; avoid the fishnets and stripper heels with this look and keep it classy. Check out online stores MyCatwalk.com and Beginning Boutique for a good selection of body suits available now

EAT DRINK AND BE MERRY

Ever been inspired by cutlery? The idea for this photography/typography poster hopped into my brain one day as I was hunting around in my kitchen draws. Almost has a Christmas-festive feel yes? I was thinking maybe framing it as a Kitchen/Dining room print

LUST HAVE TREND : GOING TO GREAT LENGTHS

GOING TO GREAT LENGTHS : THE MAXI LIVES ON!
There was a lot of floor sweeping on the Spring runways recently and I couldn't be happier as this means a continuation of last summer's maxi revolution. Added in this season will also be some calf skimming lengths and toe-touching skirts; with plenty of colour and prints. This time around the trend is also a little more relaxed and body friendly - you will see more covered neckline choices and room to hide bra straps.
For an up to the minute look team your maxi frock with bejewelled sandals or some lace up wedges and add a piece of statement jewellery as frosting.
Perfect for times when you forget your fake tan or 'misplace' your razor, this one step outfit is the ideal failsafe summer style staple. So whether bright and structured, flirty and floral or hobo chic, the Maxi dress (and skirts) are every woman's friend this season and should be on your 'must have' shopping list!

BYE BYE NOTEBOOK MAGAZINE

*feet stomping and whiny sounds of denial* I can't believe they are taking Notebook Magazine off the shelves! I really did enjoy this monthly read that fit snugly into a niche that is otherwise lacking. I thought it was a great mix of interiors and gardening, craft, fashion, food and life without the over saturated celebrity tales. It is such a pity News Ltd didn't feel they were making enough profit...sigh, at least I have a pretty good library of past issues, one can only hope a new title will come along soon! In the mean time homelife.com.au has a lot of great content available

The final cover of Notebook, the November 2010 issue out now

PHOTO OF THE DAY : THE MAGIC MAKER

SEA OF SHOES ART COMP

Jane from the infamous blog Sea of Shoes just held a fashion art comp, where she asked readers to send in their artistic interpretations of the Spring 2011 shows. I thought this was such a great idea and a good way to inspire some more 'arty-ness' in the blogosphere. Below is the sketch I sent in (pencil sketch digitally coloured), however I don't know if I made the cut off date in time! oh well, it was a good push for me to get something on paper! Take a look at the flickr gallery of entries so far, and I'll get back to you on whether my entry was seen or not :)
