PHOTO OF THE DAY : CHRISTIAN DIOR FALL 2011

Im sure expectations were high for the latest showing from Dior; fast on the heels of the scandal surrounding dismissed designer Galliano. CEO Sidney Toledano, apparently opened the show with a speech trying to quell any doubts of the houses future and remind all of their upstanding values.
My pick for look of the day is for its fresh yet classic appeal and especially for that 'wonder-of-construction' coat... and my favourite touch of the show? was the final bow taken by the true crafts people behind the label....bravo!

RUNWAY TOP 6 : CHRISTIAN DIOR COUTURE 2011

Ah-may-zing! No other way to truly sum up John Galliano's latest display of Brilliance; the silhouettes, the cut and colours, the dramatic tones, even the Hair (Orlando Pita) and makeup (Pat McGrath) were perfection. According to Style.com the collection was inspired by the work of Fashion Illustrator Renè Gruau (who illustrated for Dior in the forties and fifties). You have to go and drool over the whole show here. This is truly couture as it should be...

LOOK OF THE DAY : CHRISTIAN DIOR COUTURE

This really is almost a Photo of The Day as well... very theatrical and boldly designed. Inspired by the beauty of nature Galliano really took the Fall 2010 Couture collection somewhere amazing. Filled with gorgeous, rich, floral jewel-tones and amazing silhouettes (like this Tulip coat) its easy to see why the House of Dior is still on top.
