LOOK OF THE DAY : ALEXIS MABILLE

The first look from the Fall 11 Alexis Mabille show.
I'm loving the hair and makeup, the peep of tartan and the silhouette of that ruffle flouncing out from beneath her camel belted coat...
Happy Friday!

PHOTO OF THE DAY : CHRISTIAN DIOR FALL 2011

Im sure expectations were high for the latest showing from Dior; fast on the heels of the scandal surrounding dismissed designer Galliano. CEO Sidney Toledano, apparently opened the show with a speech trying to quell any doubts of the houses future and remind all of their upstanding values.
My pick for look of the day is for its fresh yet classic appeal and especially for that 'wonder-of-construction' coat... and my favourite touch of the show? was the final bow taken by the true crafts people behind the label....bravo!

LOOK OF THE DAY : BURBERRY PRORSUM FALL 2011

Look of the Day is Tayane Leão Melo from Burberry Prorsum's recent Fall 11 runway. So many great coats in this one...(pity about those hats...not my cup of tea)

RUNWAY TOP 6 : MULBERRY PRE-FALL 2011

A totally wearable and translatable collection, Mulberry's first Pre fall show was a wonderful mix of english school girl charm, feminine confidence and 70s touches with a perfect on-trend silhouette. Im loving the look of the impeccable tailoring, especially on the coats with the waist cinching belts and the mix of metalic sparkle wih the more subdued heavy fabrics. A win for creative director Emma Hill. (runway shots via style.com)

LOOK OF THE DAY : PRE FALL BURBERRY PRORSUM

Normally fairly stale the poses of pre-fall and resort always get a bit more movement for the Burberry collections.Really liking all those big coats with accentuated waste lines and mashes of colour, pattern and texture.
A world away from the recent humid Brisbane days (style.com)
