BEGINNING BOUTIQUE : BABY ITS COLD OUTSIDE

This week suddenly brought on a case of the shivers here in Brisbane; Winter is certainly making an early appearance this year! So I thought I would post up these cosy pics from Beginning Boutique's May look book to warm up the start of the new week for everyone. Happy Sunday!

LUST HAVE TREND : CAPED CRUSADER

Is there perhaps a hidden and unspoken superhero aspiration in all of us, that haS fashion's elite turning to capes every few seasons? I like to think so!
Its a bold look to try right now, but think sleek, sexy and powerful...hone that caped crusader within because this trend isn't about hiding (although it does offer good camouflage), and remember to keep things proportioned, try it with slim pants, skinny jeans, tights or a pencil skirt to balance the volume.
PS keep an eye out for an extension of this trend in the shape of the Box silhouette and batwing sleeve.

LOOK OF THE DAY : PRE FALL BURBERRY PRORSUM

Normally fairly stale the poses of pre-fall and resort always get a bit more movement for the Burberry collections.Really liking all those big coats with accentuated waste lines and mashes of colour, pattern and texture.

RUNWAY TOP 6 : BANANA REPUBLIC F10RTW

My top 6 picks from Banana Republics Fall 2010 show. The retailer went heavy on the olive and military, and light on the theatrics this season; putting togther a group of super wearable outifits. All of which could be dissected by a novice and paired back with old wardrobe favourites with ease. Great accessories and styling, although I may be biased, as this cold weather lately has me craving anything cosy and warm looking!

Long sweater over a flirty-feminie skirt = on my fashion 'To-Do' list, plus Pom poms!

Who doesn't love a man in mittens! (also digging the undone boot look' very rocker)

Loving layered knits cinched with a skinny-belt & scarves wound around the neck and tucked away

JUNE ONE : HAPPY WINTER!

Well we are officially in winter here in Oz and for once it actually feels like it! I love the colder months because it means I can live in Jeans and my scarf collection gets a good workout. So Im a big fan of winter accessories, but I'm just not sure it will ever get cold enough here in Brisneyland to justify Chanel's latest couture add on. Seen on the Fall 2010 runway the 'Hot-water-bottle Handbag' is the "hottest" accessory right now! (giggles at own cleverness) How 'cool' are they? (I'll stop now) Happy Winter everyone! x
