FRENCH CARAFE VIA BUYSTER

I am a huge fan of snail mail, the anticipation and excitement of waiting for a letter or parcel is such a buzz...Hence why I could be seen peeking out from the curtains all this week just waiting for a special delivery; and its finally here! My beautiful French Carafe Set from Buyster.com.au by Royal VKB. (made in France =Trés fancy pants!)
Take a look at the shots I snapped yesterday, can't you just imagine this 'centre table' at a summer BBQ? or full of nice winter wine at a dinner party? I can! and am looking forward to any excuse to bring it out.
And the best part? the 4 glasses that come with are all stackable within the neck so it will only take one hand to tote this bit of fancy around the next soirée! leaving the other hand free to do whatever a party host should do. (Suggestions include: waving, high-five-ing, blowing obnoixious air kisses, thumbs up or peace signs)
Jealous?...well luckily you can buy your very own on Buyster, here, for just $41!

PACKAGING & PRODUCT DESIGN : MOR COSMETICS

Every time I walk though a David Jones I always lose a little time admiring* (*see also: drooling over) the packaging for MOR Cosmetics, I'm a lover of packaging and product design and when it is done well it can be such an art-form. And I don't think I've ever met a MOR product that wasn't absolutely stunning and creative (At the moment my faves are their pieces with wooden accents)...also it doesn't hurt that all their products are deliciously good and from an Australian brand.

I adore fresh flowers and would love to fill my home with a new bunch every week! which is why I was so grateful last night when one very lovely friend arrived with this bunch of pretty in her hand. Aren't random kind gestures the best sort... thank-you! X

HANDMADE BUY OF THE DAY : NURSERY DECAL

Decals are such a fantastic idea and I can't wait until they are more readily available in everyday stores, but there is so much of an online shopping selection right now, particulary on Etsy, that you don't have to wait.
How gorgeous is this blossom tree for a Nursery! Super quick and easy way to turn any room into baby's, and still have the freedom to change your mind, or your decorating scheme the next day. Buy this decal (or something similar, they have a great range!) at Designed Designer's Etsy Shop. It comes in a variety of colours and is a nice large size!

SPEND VS. SAVE : THE STUDDED BAG

Witchery Hudson Studded Bag $299 (on sale) VS. Sussan Suede Stud Bag $69.95

A POSSIBLE DIY

Last week I happened across this artwork for sale in a local furniture store. Something so simple is super effective, and while I'm not sure the boyfriend would dig the Butterfly look I wonder if I could make something similar...I was think Letters or numbers, hearts or ??? I liked how they did Two in a group (which I neglected to photograph) it gave more substance to the display, and how they were hung to just hover over a side table. They were priced at $80, so I think if I could find some nice shadow box frames and textured paper I could save plenty!
Happy Monday!

A LOVE LETTER / WRITINGS ON THE WALL

The first 3 images are from a project called Love Letter run by Stephen Powers with the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program. The last are just an example of the almost 3000 murals that brighten up the walls of Philadelphia.

RUNWAY TOP 6 : BURBERRY PRORSUM S10

My top 6 picks from Burberry's Spring 2010 runway. There was so much variety but within really strict limits which is impressive. Im loving the subtle colour range and colour blocking, especially the lilac and bone. The construction and silhouettes are impeccable! the amazing twisting and that draping - gorgeous! the skirts probably could have headed into nappy territory but the fit and fabric saves them. Also can I please have one of those belts, I'm drooling over the chestnut colour...and while Im making requests, the first coat aswell! Anyone know what its made out of? maybe a textured wool?

PHOTO OF THE DAY : FEELING BRIGHT AND BLANCO

Saw this pic over on Vectroave and loved the colour of her hair, the shades of pink and yellow together, and the belted cardi too! It's from the Blanco Spring/Summer campaign, photographed by Hunter & Gatti (check out their blog here) Have a great weekend!

I HEART ART : ARTURO ELENA

Fashion artist Arturo Elena was a big inspiration for me when I was illustrating my final year collection at QUT. His work is so unique and colourful, the way he renders a figure is amazing and I love the obvious signature he has to each drawing. Enjoy!

LUST HAVE TREND : LADYLIKE BEHAVIOUR

I'M A LADY!
Ladylike behaviour is all about being feminine but still twisting the trend to suit you. This one is full of contradictions and is more sporty and accessible then past femme trends but is all about being 'put-together' and looking confident. Think soft pastels with a hint of more subdued summery hues. Feminine ruffles, frills and bows against the elegant clean lines of tuxedo jackets and denim. Slim leg pants and trouser-style denims, structured pencil-skirt-suits with print blouses underneath and Dior silhouettes with ankle boots. Ladylike Behaviour is a return to something a little more subdued and tasteful, perhaps a reflection on recent world affairs. But whatever has triggered the comeback of curves and girly dresses Im welcoming it!

PHOTO OF THE DAY : AN OLD FAVOURITE

This is so random! I stumbled across this photo taken by Photographer Michelle Holden just today. However it has been a magazine-tear on my notice-board for years! I've always loved it for the golden hue, beachy hair, chunky jewellery and of course the beautiful striped top (love the use of stripe printed silk and jewel embellishments) Found on the 2C Management page.
