JUNE ONE : HAPPY WINTER!
Well we are officially in winter here in Oz and for once it actually feels like it! I love the colder months because it means I can live in Jeans and my scarf collection gets a good workout. So Im a big fan of winter accessories, but I'm just not sure it will ever get cold enough here in Brisneyland to justify Chanel's latest couture add on. Seen on the Fall 2010 runway the 'Hot-water-bottle Handbag' is the "hottest" accessory right now! (giggles at own cleverness) How 'cool' are they? (I'll stop now) Happy Winter everyone! x
RUNWAY TOP 6 : LOUIS VUITTON F10RTW
The Louis Vuitton (Fall 2010) Paris runway was another sign that curves are back! It was all very sixties and some of the skirts were verging on poodle, but I loved the overall silhouette; especially the full skirted bodice dresses with cinched in waist cardigans. Marc Jacobs has such an elegant signature to his designs and I loved the mix of prints he came up with this season. Honourable mention of course to Elle M, who's finale walk proves she still has it! PS I would really like the whole first outfit below, please, thank-you!

BEAUTY SHOOT PHOTOGRAPHY
You might remember right back at the beginning of the month I posted an image I had been working on after I played photographer for a makeup artist Friend (for more info see the Facebook page Elegance by TB). I've finally finished editing and thought I'd share some of my faves! If you are in the feedback mood let me know what you think.

EYE CANDY : SCHAPPACHER WHITE LTD
Schappacher White Ltd. is a New York-based architecture and interior design firm founded by Steven Schappacher and Rhea White. What I like about their interiors is the crisp neatness and neautral schemes that always seem to have some kind of 'pop' or oddity (see the zebra)

BRISBANE BUZZ : SAVIOURS OF THE LOST ARTS
For those of you who live for the revitalised "nanna arts" now is your time to shine. Brisbane City Council and Bleeding Heart have put together a great Festival called Saviours Of The Lost Arts. The events kicked off a couple of days ago and will run in to June.
FREE workshop series will be presented over two weeks, from May 24- June 5 and everyone is invited to get crafty. You don’t need any special skills, just a willingness to get involved. Craft types will include- dyeing, weaving, spinning, wood crafts, multicultural crafts, crochet, cross stitch, embroidery, knitting, patchwork, ceramics, glass and metal crafts, beading, scrapbooking, lapidary, flower craft, decorative folk art, cake making and decorating and much, much more.
The workshop I'm most looking forward to is next Tuesday night's "Zero Waste Fashion" presented by 'The Stitchery' (QUT) and run by two very talented and lovely ladies (who happen to be QUT Fashion honour students *wink*) So hunt out that favourite ball of yarn and your sewing scissors and get crafting!

PHOTO OF THE DAY : SATC SEQUEL PREMIERE
image by Dave Allocca/startraksphoto.com via e!online
Yet to hear much about the film itself, fashion shots from the premiere of 'Sex and The City 2' are in full circulation this morning. I wish I could have found a good full length shot of all the girls... but in every one SJP was throwing her dress out - question : is this because she was trying to distract us from her crazy hem and too long train? (But besides that little issue) I thought the quartet looked healthy and gorgeous. I was especially loving Sarah Jessica's return to more golden locks and the neon hues of hers and Kristin Davis' gowns.
STYLE STEALING : RYAN GOSLING & MICHELLE WILLIAMS
How gorgeous is this too stylish couple! Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams were out promoting their film 'Blue Valentine' at Cannes last week. Adoring Michelle's new platinum pixie look and those Stella McCartney wedges (yay bring back the wedge full throttle, they are so much easier to stay upright in than those 5metre high stilettos that have been making the rounds).I think Ryan is one of few men who could pull off that outfit, those shoes and not even blink. Love these photos, so very effortless chic...

EYE CANDY: THAT TEA CUP IS CACTUS
Love this bookshelf from the creative duo at the Rupert&Sherlock Blog (who you might remember I've featured in a couple of handmade posts). I'm all in favour of re-purposing everyday items and I think this would be a pretty gorgeous way of growing herbs or small houseplants.

HANDMADE BUY OF THE DAY : IT HAS A RING TO IT
AdornJewelry has created a small collection of quirky faux moss jewellery of which my fave is this 'Gather, Square Moss Ring' selling for US$25 in their Etsy Store. Certainly something you don't see everyday! (seen via Rupert&Sherlock)
BREAKFAST BARS & BUYSTER BAR STOOLS
Check out these eye candy breakfast bars. This past weekend the boyfriend and I helped some very good friends move into their new house (which is super gorgeous and envy inspiring!). Their new kitchen has a great set of serving windows through to the lounge room, that I thought would be a perfect excuse for a breakfast bar! (yes I am allowed to live vicariously through them) Growing up we had one and they are perfect if you're a little short on space or just love breakfast like me (hah it is the most important meal of the day after all). Plus it is added seating and always a great space to stay and chat while -if you are lucky- someone else cooks :)
So yesterday I did a little "window" shopping and remembered that I was recently introduced to the world of Buyster.com.au its an online Aussie company based in Sydney and they have a huge range! everything from rugs, toasters and lighting, to pots & pans and bar stools (the most integral part to any good breakfast nook so I got a little distracted). The site is easy to use and affordable, and its a great place to visit if you're sprucing up your home or even starting from scratch. Here's the link to Buyster's Melbourne bar stools section where there are more seating options than I thought possible, providing the perfect way to start building that breakfast nook!
