EYE CANDY : LONNY MAG MARCH/APRIL

Happy first day of May! I thought I'd post up a little Sunday Eye Candy for all those folk enjoying the long weekend relaxing with your blog roll. So Im a little late to the party for the Macrh/April Issue of Lonny Mag, but better late then never! here are some pages that caught my eye.

A ROYAL WEDDING DRESS

Royal Wedding fever is finally over! Tv scheduling is officially back to normal and the gown has finally been revealed.
It has to be the most anticipated dress this year (at least!), I couldn't imagine the pressure Kate...err excuse me Katherine, Duchess of Cambridge, would have felt in choosing 'the one'. However surely no one could complain about the end product; just the right amount of royal coverage, figure flattering and super stylish. The Grace Kelly-esque Alexander Mcqueen, by Sarah Burton lace concoction was topped off with a Cartier Crown on loan from the queen! I Thought the second dress for the reception (another McQueen) was just as gorgeous. I loved the double kiss...and how tiny is this Lady's waist!!

Definite similarities between Kate's dress and Grace Kelly's

LUST HAVE TREND : TERRIFIC TASSELS

Late last year tassels had the Spring 2011 runways all tied up, with an endless list of designers embellishing everything from belts, bags, shoes, and jewellery to hems, fans and necklines. Now finally the tassel is filtering through and hitting stores ready to be embraced!
The Tassel certainly isn't a new invention (in fact its been around for thousands of years) and has admittedly been a fairly familiar sight adorning shoes and bags, but this season it is settling for nothing less than centre stage.
Forget those dainty peach tassels holding your nanna's curtains back or the one atop your graduation cap…this trend is all about statements; think oversized, strong and obvious, long fringes and leather with metal hardware. That said, to be truly runway chic ; keep it classic, its about blending in as much as standing out. Yes they are large and fantastic but more importantly they are symbols of glamour and luxury. Keep to tones that blend or coordinate with the outfit or item they adorn and let the shape speak for itself!
Whether recharged as a by-product of recent trends in military and nautical themes (both are steeped with historical and traditional use of tassels) or perhaps the current popularity of art & crafty pursuits, this trend is leaping out of the world of soft furnishings and into your wardrobe, so open the door and find it a couple of nice places to stay at your place this season!

P.S Also keep an eye out for the tassel's cousin - fringing, I think it could also make a popular appearance this season

PHOTO OF THE DAY : KATRIN THORMANN

This months UK Harpers Bazaar features the seaside editorial "White Michief". Katrin Thormann plays the lady in white, lensed by Horst Diekgerdes. The D&G chiffon dress with lace embroidery was styled by fashion editor Cathy Katerine and juxtaposes perfectly with the texture of the rock behind Katrin. I saw the shots via FashionGoneRogue

PRADA S/S11 PRINT CAMPAIGN

When I think of the Spring 2011 runways there are a few shows that really stand out as memorable and trend defining, one of them was of course the ubiquitous Prada show. Those licorice all-sort stripes and fruity prints are easily some of the most recognisable designer looks at the moment... Check out these pics from their recent print campaign
