Lovely shot taken by Benoit Peverelli of Matilde Frachon for an Elle China editorial called "A une Passante Paris Shanghai" (which I think means something like "a Paris passerby in Shanghai" or vice versa!) in May this year (stylist: Stephanie Zhuge)

BRISBANE THREADS SURPRISE FASHION FIND
A lucky dip for fashionable adults! Online fashion community Brisbane Threads has come up with a clever idea called Surprise Fashion Finds. Im new to this site so not sure if this is a regular occurrence? But there are 50 mystery boxes available for sale at just $20 (plus postage) and contain goodies from places such as Saralli, Dexter-Rose and stylist Rebecca Williams, up to the value of $100.
All done through ebay (with the security of paypal) the process is simple and easy, its just all about the luck of the draw. My mystery box is on its way and I can't wait to break it open and check my luck! Over half of the boxes have already been snapped up, so if you are a lucky dipper from way back you will love this! I'll be sharing my surprise fashion find as soon as it arrives on my doorstep.

LOOK OF THE DAY : DEREK LAM S11RTW
A double shot of Derek Lam this morning. I love the first look, a 70's revival with clean lines and a 'Charlie's Angels' feel (so on trend), but had to include the second as I think this is one of the few great examples of denim on denim actually done in a stylish way and looking good!

HANDMADE BUY OF THE DAY : BOHEMIAN BRACELETS
These gorgeous bracelets (12 in the set) are from Etsy store Maribelle Campa. Hand made in Puerto Rico with natural Greek leather and silver plated tubes, they'd be a beautiful addition to the hippie-chic maxi dresses emerging for this summer. Selling for US$30, check out the store for a great range of colour combos.

LOOK OF THE DAY : KAREN WALKER S11RTW
Loving this look! The lustre of the full lemon skirt contrasting with the fitted grey marle, with those nude shoes and cute skinny bow belt...drool. The rest of the Karen Walker Spring 2011 RTW runway is just as effortlessly chic and well worth a browse (via style.com)

Check out this great poster by UK emerging Designer Emily-Jane Wartalski. I stumbled across it after having finally ordered myself a new imac from the Apple store late last night. Can't wait for this early Christmas gift to arrive on my doorstep in the next few days! Happy Monday

LUST HAVE TREND : BELT YOURSELF IN
The skinny Belt is a trend that has been around for a few seasons, but from the looks of the latest Spring runways, it is here to stay and its bringing some colourful friends!
TREND SHOPPING
I love this look because it can be professional and classy while still being fun, young and on trend.
Think dainty Dior-style cinched-in silhouettes versus weightlifter wide buckles. It's an accessory that can carry us through the end of this cooler weather (by adding shape to knits and providing a place to tuck your scarf) right into summer; belt your flirty dresses and accentuate the waist in feminine tops or otherwise boring workwear. Im especially loving the thin double belt and pops of bright colour on neutral garments.
And don't be shy about what you belt, this season everything in your wardrobe can be enhanced with a little waist emphasis. Coats, knits, tshirts, blouses, dresses, shorts and vests get cinched- in!
Don't forget to experiment with colour and layering, this is a great trend for completing an outfit or tying one together.

LOOK OF THE DAY : ALBERTA FERRETTI TOP TO TOE
I really liked the look of the Alberta Ferritti runway shoes in this weeks Milan show. The whole collection was feminine and romantic with plenty of throw-back to 70's style floral prints and floor sweeping dresses with crochet knits and other 'hippie-chic' elements.
Do you think this means we should swap out last season Gladiator style sandals for some more lady-like straps? I hope so!

EYE CANDY : WHOLE LOTA PAINT CHIPS
I've seen this idea before and love it. I always steal those paint chip cards and one day I might have enough for a wall! Originally I used them for colour-way ideas and samples on design moodboards at uni but now its just habit...one of these days I'll get black-listed from hardware stores in Brisbane. JETS BY JESSIKA ALLEN GOES STRIPEY
Im absolutely in love with the new Summer 10/11 Coastline and Riviera swimwear collections from Jessika Allen. I'm not a fan of putting on a bathing suit or swimming at the beach, but that red and white striped one-piece with the navy neckline bow has me almost converted to the dark side...er the slightly more naked side. Also jealous of the colour design in that striped bodice, nautically-perfect! I do love my stripes...
